How do I enter an event?

You can enter online through our website up to midnight before the event, or enter on the day at signing-on. Online entries help us plan the event better and guarantee your entry. Entry fees are £20 for adults and £15 for youth riders.
What time do events start?
+
Signing-on opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 10:45 AM sharp. First rider away is typically 11:00 AM. We recommend arriving early to give yourself plenty of time to sign on and prepare your bike.
Can spectators attend?
+
Absolutely! Spectators are always welcome and entry is free. It's a great family day out with the opportunity to see trials riding at all levels across beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Please respect landowner property and follow marshals' instructions.
What should I bring to an event?
+
Essential items include: valid ACU licence, appropriate riding gear (helmet, boots, gloves), your bike in good working order, tools for basic repairs, spare tubes/tyre levers, and waterproof clothing. Don't forget food and drinks for the day!
Are there facilities at events?
+
Most events have basic facilities including toilets and parking. Some locations may have limited facilities, so please check the specific event information. We always try to ensure adequate provision for all competitors and spectators.
Do I need ACU membership?
+
Yes, all competitors must hold a valid ACU or ACU-affiliated club membership licence. Day licences are available if you want to try trials before committing to a full membership. These can be purchased on the day at signing-on.
What are the entry fees?
+
Entry fees are £20 for adult riders and £15 for youth riders. Online entries may receive a small discount. Day licences cost extra if required. Payment can be made online or in cash on the day.
Can I enter on the day?
+
Yes, entries are accepted on the day during signing-on (9:30 AM - 10:45 AM). However, online pre-entry is preferred as it helps us plan section routes and ensure we have enough observers. Online entry also guarantees your place.
How do online entries work?
+
Visit our website and navigate to the upcoming events page. Select your event and fill in the online entry form with your details, bike information, and class. You'll receive confirmation by email. Entries close at midnight the day before the event.
What classes are available?
+
We run classes for all abilities: Expert, Intermediate, Novice, Beginner, Youth A, Youth B, Youth C, and Youth D. Our experienced observers will help ensure you're in the right class for your skill level.
Which class should I ride in?
+
If you're new to trials, start in Beginner or Novice. Youth riders are grouped by age and ability. If you're unsure, contact us before the event or speak to the Clerk of the Course on the day. It's better to start in an easier class and move up than struggle in a class that's too difficult.
How does the championship work?
+
The championship runs from February to October with approximately 12 rounds. Points are awarded at each event based on your finishing position. Your best scores count towards the championship. Awards are presented at the end of the season.
Can I change class during the season?
+
Yes, you can move up a class if you feel you've progressed. You can also drop down if you're finding your current class too challenging. Speak to the Clerk of the Course to make changes. Championship points start fresh in your new class.
Where are events held?
+
Events are held across North Lincolnshire, typically on farmland and natural terrain. Specific locations are announced with each event. Check the calendar page for detailed directions and what3words locations.
Is parking available?
+
Yes, parking is provided at all events. Please follow marshals' directions and park considerately. In wet conditions, fields may be muddy - 4x4 or good ground clearance is recommended. Parking is free.
What if the weather is bad?
+
Events run in all weather conditions unless the venue becomes unsafe or inaccessible. Check our Facebook page or website on the morning of the event for any cancellations. Wet weather often makes trials more challenging and exciting!
How do I contact the club?
